today i am thankful for a magazine obsession

In my other life, I'm an academic librarian. I love to read contemporary literature ... Haruki Murakami, Jonathan Safron Foer, Nicole Krauss, Zadie Smith, Junot Diaz, and on and on. Any author with tight writing and a poetic style -- well, they get to me quickly.

I've also managed to acquire a bit of a magazine obsession. I can't count the number of subscriptions I have -- from fashion and culture to news and food. But this year, as Troy and I prepare the menu for our first Thanksgiving as the HOSTS, I am thankful for my food magazine obsession. Time to prove that all the real estate my magazines take up is worth it. We just won't talk about how I've only looked at the photography in these food mags before today...

I managed to pile-up the ones in which I found Thanksgiving-inspired recipes. Eek -- so much to think about!! I just hope the store still has some turkeys left by the time I get there!
